If you have not been living underneath a rock for the past ten years or so, you have no doubt noticed that our environment is being slowly harmed by all of the emissions that our cars put out on a daily basis. You have probably also noticed that gas prices have been rising for just about everybody, and also that there may only be so much oil left in the ground. After all, what we have is ultimately what we have, and we are not making any more of it by burning up our supply at a rate of millions of barrels of it on an average day. So naturally, hybrid vehicles have been growing in popularity, because they can have almost twice the gas mileage of a more traditional type of automobile. While that may not be a huge difference, it can stack up to be something substantial over time.
But how great are hybrids really? Is it really worth spending a whole lot more money on a car which burns gas more slowly? After all, for all of the modern technology that a hybrid has packed inside of it, they are still a car and they do still burn gas. But when a person is still burning gas, are they not also still contributing to the problems at hand?
