The gas we all Use

Let’s face some facts. If you do any kind of traveling (even if it is only within your city or town), you are most likely burning a goodly amount of gas. So when it comes right down to it, you are as much a part of the growing problem of reduced oil supplies and a steadily growing carbon footprint as is anybody else in the developed world. We are all gas users, whether we want to admit to it or not. So we are all going to need to take responsibility for the actions that we as a society are taking on a daily basis. Consider that all of our society’s infrastructure depends on the use of fossil fuels.

But what can we ultimately do to curb the extreme use of gas that we are all practicing? We can not simply sit where we are, and stop going anywhere except on foot or through bicycles. What is even worse, we can not simply stop the entire supply chain, and go to shipping objects through the use of non-powered vehicles. Imagine a truck driver trying to pedal that massive beast down the highway as if it were a rickshaw or something. After the laughter dies down, the sheer impossibility of doing such a thing will become very evident.

So what are we all going to do about the gas that we all use? For starters, we can drive hybrid cars. For another thing, we can do our best not to idle our vehicles, which burns gas for no good reason. And in addition to that, we can always plan out the trips that we are going to take, so that we can make the most efficient possible use of the gas that we are inevitably going to burn. While it might not stop our gas burning activities, every little thing that we do helps a little.
